Two fees. One page. No products.

We are compensated by our clients, not by commissions, product placements, or referral arrangements. Both fees are disclosed in our Form ADV.

Advisory fee

1.00%

of assets under management annually, billed quarterly in arrears. Covers investment management, ongoing planning, strategy administration, and coordination with your counsel and CPA. Fee schedules step down at higher asset levels.

Planning performance fee

10%

of realized tax savings on strategies we design and implement, measured against a documented baseline agreed before implementation. Charged only when savings are realized. Available exclusively to clients meeting the SEC's "qualified client" standard under Rule 205-3.

How the performance fee actually works

Before any strategy is implemented, we document the baseline: the tax you would owe on the do-nothing path, using stated assumptions you sign off on. When the strategy produces a realized, measurable saving against that baseline, a completed exclusion, a credit applied, a deduction taken, our fee is 10% of that saving. You keep 90% of money that otherwise would have gone to the government.

Deferral-based strategies are measured on the present value of the deferral using a discount rate agreed in the baseline, not on the gross tax postponed. We think inflating deferral into "savings" is the most common dishonesty in this industry, and we price accordingly.

What we will tell you before you sign

  • A performance fee creates an incentive for us to favor implementable strategies. The documented-baseline process and the do-nothing comparison in every recommendation exist to check that incentive, and you should hold us to both.
  • The performance fee is legally available only to qualified clients (currently $1.4M under management with the adviser or $2.7M net worth under Rule 205-3). Clients below those thresholds are served under the advisory fee alone or flat project fees.
  • Third-party costs are separate and passed through at cost: legal drafting, appraisals, trustee fees, tax insurance, fund-level expenses. We estimate them in writing before implementation.

Alternatives

Flat-fee project engagements are available for defined scopes (a single structure, a pre-exit plan, a second opinion). Hourly consulting is available for counsel and CPAs. Ask.

A conversation costs nothing. Waiting usually does.

A first meeting covers your situation, the strategies that plausibly apply, and what we would need to review before recommending anything.
